Beginning Steps Together

On April 15th two of our Catalan friends were married. It was a beautiful church and a very sweet ceremony. It was a treat for us because it was our first wedding to attend since getting married ourselves. How freeing it was to simply be guests and have nothing to do with the preparation and details. (So freeing that we arrived late!)

Ruben and I are adjusting well to our own married life, learning just what it means to love and honor and respect on very practical levels. We still need to get our house in order...buying a few needed bookcases, selling some extra furniture, etc. We have seen some arguments and confusion along the way...but we've also seen great joy and freedom too.

We're learning to recognize potential pitfalls and how to circumvent them early. Learning to blend two families (and not to mention two cultures and three languages!) is definitely a process. Although we are only approaching the 6 month mark, we are super encouraged as we see ourselves growing together step-by-step.
